Expander® Tooling

By design, Expander System pivot pins are simple to install and remove with standard tools, thanks to the tapered axle and expanding sleeves. But with Expander tooling, it’s even faster and more controlled to install and remove the pins and sleeves, especially when working with larger pin systems.

HANDLE WITH EASE

The Expander System is by its design, with large conical ends, easy to install and remove with the use of general tooling (i.e. torque wrench, sockets and hammer). Swap traditional methods that require sledgehammers and hydraulic pullers for Expander features and tools. Doing so, you’ll not only improve work safety, but also make the task at hand significantly easier to complete, especially when working with large pins (Ø >100 mm).

SAFETY FEATURES

The part to be removed is secured to the slide hammer. The handle has a lifting eye that can be used to prevent the parts from dropping. The slide hammer uses a controlled force, pulling away from the machine or pushing towards it locked to the part.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB

Adding our on-the-shelf tools such as slide hammer, Jack Bolts and Guide Bolts as ideal complementary solutions. During the design phase of the Expander System pivot pin, our design engineers will design in the optimal “removal and installation feature” for your application depending on your needs and challenges. If the suitable tool is not specified on the drawing, we will help select the correct one and adapt for the specific feature.
