Since 1982, we have provided our wedge-locking washers to manufacturers of critical applications. Our washers come in pairs, with cams facing each other and serrations gripping the mating surface. When the cams lock into each other, it is geometry and not friction, used in conventional bolting, that prevents bolts from vibrating loose. Once installed, if the bolt tries to rotate loose, our washers act to increase the clamp load by utilizing a wedge-locking effect, holding the bolt in place. It’s possible to picture the bolt as a spring that stretches upon tightening. That’s how it works.
To put it in the simplest of terms: your bolts can’t loosen unintentionally once secured with our washers, no matter the intensity of vibrations or dynamic loads.
